Job Description:/h3:
This position will support production and engineering with machined parts for various applications related to production and continuous improvement.
Setup and operate a variety of machine tools (lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders) to produce precision parts and instruments.
Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools.
Review electronic data, blueprints, or general specifications for work projects.
Apply knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
Do preventative maintenance on parts produced including assembly and quality testing fixtures.
Assist with building and repairing components for end of arm tooling for industrial robots.
Assist all departments in machining related projects as directed.
Assist other engineering personnel to increase efficiency, improve safety, and process flow.
Miscellaneous duties as required by Engineering management.
Experience in machining with mills, lathes, and CNC is mandatory.
An ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics is a plus.
Must be able to diagnose shape of cutting tools and replace if necessary.
Must be able to write a basic program and modify the program as problems occur.
Must have the ability to travel between multiple facilities in San Leandro.
Must be a team player with the ability to work and communicate well with team members.
Must have good customer service skills and be able to effectively interact will all departments.
Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
Must be assertive, detail oriented and have strong organizational skills.
Must be self:motivated, self:supervised and proactive thinking.
Must have the ability to be flexible with work schedule including occasional weekend work.
A minimum of 5 years in machining.
Technical diploma or AA degree in related field preferred.
