ESBA provides individual behavioral services to approximately 3,500 clients with developmental disabilities and special needs, and has a specific expertise in serving clients diagnosed with autism. Position Overview: The Easter Seals Bay Area Finance Department is dedicated to ensuring management has access to the most updated financial related information. The Revenue and Treasury Manager position ensures risk management and financial internal controls are always in place when processing financial transactions. Essential Job Functions: As Revenue and Treasury Manager in our growing finance team, you will be responsible for revenue reporting, accounts receivable and cash on hand reporting. You will be expected to analyze, audit, and investigate AR trends and issues in order to ensure quality of financial reports and provide strategic solutions. Operational Duties: As Revenue and Treasury Manager in our growing finance team, you will be responsible for revenue reporting, accounts receivable and cash on hand reporting. You will be expected to analyze, audit, and investigate AR trends and issues in order to ensure quality of financial reports and provide strategic solutions. Reporting and Monitoring 40% Determine revenue reporting in compliance with GAAP for all products, services and donations Sales Contract review and analysis for forecasting and reporting revenue Monitor and report on deviations from expected billed amounts, donor pledges and credit standards Monitor and report on timing and accuracy of claim processing and all client balances Manage cash application making sure all cash receipts are applied timely and properly Review and monitor all client payment plans Weekly reporting of invoicing totals/aging totals/cash receipts/invoice adjustments Monthly reporting of donor receipts and review revenue reporting and restrictions of funds Make recommendations to improve quality of reporting, systems and processes used for billing and collection. Cash Management 10% Ensure accuracy and control of cash receipts processing Ensure timely collection of monies due to ESBA. Provide a forecast of cash receipts and monitor bank balances and trends General Ledger 35% Prepare journal entries with full responsibility for revenue, intercompany and accounts receivable account reconciliations. Review journal entries prepared by other accounting staff Ensure account reconciliations are performed in an accurate and timely manner Ensure that account discrepancies found in reconciliation process are resolved Identifying, need for new accounts and coordination to ensure that new accounts are properly reflected for reporting purposes. Restricted monies must be accounted for with a class code. Assist with financial reports to staff and management Assist with ESBA year-end Audit preparation and the lead for client payments Additional responsibilities - 15% Revenue and Treasury Manager will be required to manage a staff of 2 to 4 Developing a solid understanding of processes in order to strategically review and analyze Accounts Receivable functions Conducting regular audits of representative claim work for accuracy and quality Preparing and analyzing reports of audit review and performance issues with a focus on identifying trends, instituting continuous quality improvement initiatives, and identifying and providing on-going training opportunities for representatives Providing 2nd tier review on advanced and escalated revenue or accounts receivable issues to a satisfactory resolution Logging all issues encountered in internal tracking system, including enhancement requests, bugs, errors, and inquiries Making management aware of any client issues or problems Minimum Education & Experience Equivalent to: Bachelors degree in business, finance or accounting is required 7 or more years of related experience in an accounting/finance role required 5 years of experience of supervisory experience Knowledge of GAAP is required. Revenue recognition experience for consulting services or Healthcare industry preferred Able to use the finance data bases and manage multiple site finances. Advanced knowledge of accounting controls is required Quality control auditing and analysis experience Basic understanding of internal controls and ability to monitoring and correct controls as needed to assure compliance and integrity of financial statements Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): Advanced knowledge of accounting controls. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Functions, capabilities, applications and operations of computer-based accounting systems and finance databases. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Practices and techniques of financial analyses and report preparation. Auditing principles and financial recordkeeping. Analyze data and draw logical conclusions. Think critically and analytically. Organize and prioritize work and meet critical deadlines. Must be able to coordinate multiple schedules based on individual preference and guidelines. Review and identify accurate data entry, monitor and resolve data entry issues.Deliver outstanding customer service and professionalism in all interactions. Work in a team oriented setting and collaborate with peers and leadership. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Show sensitivity working with ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population. Ability to obtain clearance through the Office of Inspector General Responsibilities: A high level of work and social interaction with clients/client families, visitors, and ESBA staff at all levels across the organization. Work is performed in highly confidential areas of the organization. A professional level of discretion is required. Requires a calm, customer service focus at all times, especially when dealing with anxious or frustrated personnel or clients. Requires daily communication with co-workers and client families by phone, desktop/laptop commuter, or in person. May occasionally work in close proximity of others. High level of sensitivity to the work environment is needed. Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position. Must have a valid California Drivers License with insurance, and maintain a clean driving record. May be required to occasionally drive to other ESBA regional offices to support/assist staff. May be required to work overtime as the project or special event necessitate. Attend staff meetings, in-services, trainings, and other meetings as requested by management. Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to administrative skills. Attaining and achieving position competencies in relation to role responsibilities Physical Requirements: Frequent speaking and listening (25-75%) to clients, staff, and others in the workplace. Visual and auditory ability to work with staff and others in the workplace continuously. Ability to utilize computer, cell phone (iPhone), fax machine, telephone and copy machine. Frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy.
